Criteria for Selection
The evaluation of the admissions is based on the study of the data filled on the application form and accompanying documentation. The admission process will be set on following steps:
a) Scientific work comprehension test in English (eliminatory).
It aims to assess the candidate’s ability to interpret, translate, understand and reason correctly questions relating to an English-language scientific article that is provided at the time of the test. The time of the test is 4 hours and the use of English-Portuguese, Portuguese-English dictionary is allowed.
Will be eliminated the candidate who does not obtain the minimum of 60% of the total of the note valid in this step.
b) Proof of knowledge of the area (eliminatory).
Will be eliminated the candidate who does not obtain the minimum of 60% of the total of the note valid in this step.
c) Analysis of the curriculum and three recommendation letters (according to the example of the Office of Research an Graduate Studies);
When analyzing the curriculum, only documents that fall under the following standards will be considered:
- According to the Law 11.788 from 25/09/2008, chapter 3, article 9º, the certificate of internships must be offered by the responsible agency (universities or companies) with weekly and total workload in the same period.
- Professional experience must be proven with total workload.
- Technical Consultancies should be proven with total workload.
- Received Scholarships must attach document of conclusion, indicating the total workload.
Previous agreements of any activity will not be accepted. Only corroboratory documents with total workload. - Previous contracts of any activity will not be accepted. Only supporting documentation of completion with total workload.
- Abstracts will only be accepted with certificate.
- In cases of paid activities, explain the nature of it.
- Articles published and magazine acceptance letters will be evaluated in the same way.
