History

The Federal University of Viçosa (UFV) offers the Postgraduate Program in Animal Biology, at Master’s and Doctorate levels.

The Postgraduate course in Animal Biology at UFV is recognized by CAPES. The Program began its activities in 2006, initially only with the master’s degree. The course was approved by CEPE on 05/31/2004, and accredited to operate by CAPES according to Ministerial Ordinance 679/2006 published in the DOU of 03/16/2006.

The doctoral course began activities in 2019. Recognized according to opinion CNE/CES 655/2019 and Ministerial Ordinance No. 472, of May 11, 2020.

Currently, the Program is concept 4 at CAPES, according to the last four-yearly evaluation (2013-2016), in accordance with Ministerial Ordinance number 609, of 03/14/2019, published in the Official Gazette of the Union on 03/18/2019.
